Be self-reflective as you think about what are the media you miss engaging with -- 

  • Why do you miss it?
  • What are you getting out of engaging with it? 
  • What did you do as a substitute? 
  • How satisfying was it? 
  • How much of your life do you compare to what you see in Media?

 

Why be introspective?

  • Self-aware = human-aware
  • Human aware = Relation aware
  • Relation(s) aware = resonance aware  = Connection = Communication

2. What creative techniques are used to attract my attention? 

3. How might different people understand this message differently? 

4. What values, lifestyles, and points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this message? 

5. Why is this message being sent?

6. What conventions of storytelling or symbolism are used in this message? 

7.  What kinds of persuasive or emotional appeals are used in this message? 

8. How is this message similar and different from others with similar content?

9. How have economic decisions influenced the construction of this message?
